Your journey with Podular Design begins with planning. We introduce you to the road ahead, providing an overview of the steps involved and laying a solid groundwork so you know exactly what to expect.

We then work with you to create the project outline, including budget, timeline and specific requirements for your home.

Here comes the fun part, where you get to dream BIG. We have basic designs that you can modify and build upon, or you can start from scratch.

The Podular Design architectural team works with you to bring your fantasy into reality. We introduce factors to consider in your design- the location and dimensions of your lot, eco-friendly options, daily practicalities and more.

Our 3D modelling capabilities come in handy and give you an excellent sense of what your home will look like before you commit to a final design. At this stage we also address any remaining major design decisions to be made.

Rough costing is run based on the final design, keeping you informed, ensuring that there are no surprises up ahead, and respecting your budget as outlined in the planning phase.

With a design in hand, we create a timeline which we divide into phases. Each phase contains its own detailed timeline with milestones that will be respected.

With our design, budget and timeline set, we transfer the design to our Building Information Modelling software, starting the organisational process. This tool allows us to validate our engineering assumptions, identify any red flags then and solve those previously unknown issues. This “perfect timing” further allows us to share the design with a building partner and across all teams involved in the project both internal or external, as we now bring them into the mix.

Building Information Modelling significantly reduces unforeseen onsite situations and increases the accuracy as well as the scope of shared information. It also easily generates architectural plans, which come in handy at this stage for us to obtain planning & building permits. Next, we identify what elements will be used in the construction of your home. Structural software allows us to establish each component from windows right down to the nuts and bolts, literally! This software also provides us another layer of troubleshooting, identifying potential challenges and adapting accordingly. This level of detail is required for creating an assembly manual for the building partner. It is also needed for the manufacturing of the components, which is the next step.

Steel Structure

Designed for a custom, dependable fit, the components of the steel structure are assembled easily. This significantly cuts down the structure assembly time to 5 or 6 weeks on average.

The snug custom fit of Podular Design’s components, energy efficient windows and doors, and a combination of rigid and spray foam insulation, all ensure an airtight thermal environment that is highly efficient and eco-friendly.
